Job purpose


The role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of a fleet of gas vessels, including LNG, LPG/Ammonia, and Ethane carriers. The focus is on operational excellence, ensuring compliance with charter-party obligations, delivering high service standards, and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders. The position plays a critical role in ensuring customer satisfaction and the efficient, safe, and cost-effective operation of the vessels.


Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Role


Core Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for assigned vessels for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor daily vessel activities, ensuring operations align with time charter-party requirements and pursue cost optimisation where applicable.
  • Maintain up-to-date vessel trading and cargo information.
  • Manage the billing process for charter hires and related invoices (e.g., Bunkers, Brokerage, Armguard).
  • Build and sustain positive customer relationships.
  • Assist with commercial, ship financing, and ship registration-related matters.
  • Track vessel movements and respond to all related communications.
  • Oversee execution of voyage-related tasks from pre-fixture planning to post-fixture claims and demurrage.
  • Ensure voyage orders are properly communicated, executed, and compliant from commercial and legal perspectives.
  • Coordinate appointment of agents, port fee arrangements, and approval processes for disbursement accounts.
  • Monitor vessel performance and ensure compliance with charter-party requirements.
  • Collect and submit necessary Letters of Indemnity (LOIs).
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of vessel-related notices and documentation.
  • Assist in compatibility and due diligence studies as needed.
  • Maintain and update Q88, Form C, and other standard questionnaires.


Other Duties

  • Coordinate with the Insurance Department for deviations, war risk area entries, P&I claims, etc.
  • Liaise with security for the deployment and withdrawal of armed guards.
  • Arrange for weather routing, pilots, bunker surveyors, and superintendents as required.
  • Provide training, supervision, and guidance to Operations Executives.
  • Participate in the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and contribute to incident response as necessary.
  • Support general vessel operations, office administration, and any other tasks as assigned by the company.


Skills & Knowledge:


Educational Background: Diploma or Degree in Maritime Studies, Business, or a related field.


Experience:

  • Minimum 4–5 years of relevant experience in the shipping industry.
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience managing LNG carriers preferred.


Technical & Professional Skills:

  • Strong administrative, time management, and organisational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Solid understanding of charter-party clauses and commercial operations.
  • Familiarity with voyage documentation and operational reporting.


Communication Skills:

  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Clear and precise communication with customers and stakeholders.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative team player.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven.
